Accumulator
Use of accumulator or storage
An accumulator is a power source that stores fluid energy and returns it to the system when needed.
Types of accumulators:
Weight accumulator
Spring accumulator
Gas accumulator
Piston accumulator
Diaphragm accumulator
Bag accumulator

Description
What is a hydraulic accumulator?
In general, pressure changes and maintenance of system pressure in a uniform state are the responsibility of the accumulator.
Accumulators are used in various cases in the industry, including the following
1- As a source of power
2- Catching pump oscillations
3- Absorption of pressure shocks
4- Shock absorption property in cars
5- Power balancer
6- Compensator of thermal expansion
Accumulators are available in three general types: weighted, spring, gas (piston, diaphragm and bag).
Weight accumulator:
This type of accumulator is one of the oldest types of accumulators in which a heavy weight has been used to supply potential energy. One of the advantages of these accumulators is that in the entire course of the piston, a constant pressure will be applied to the fluid.
Spring accumulator:
In this type of accumulator, a compressed spring is used for loading. A spring accumulator is used for low pressure and flow because its dimensions increase at high pressures and flow rates.
Below we see the volume-pressure diagram and the schematic symbol of the spring accumulator.
